WetlandCare National Art and Photography Competition
The WetlandCare Australia National Art and Photography Competition 2010 is a competition that promotes photography for a cause. Competitors get an opportunity to use their photography skills to advance the cause of Australia’s wetlands. Winning photographs become material for the fundraising drives of WetlandCare Australia and its sponsors who will duly recognize the photographers. The annual competition is already underway. WetlandCare Australia is in the process of judging the entries to the competition and will notify the winners on 18 December 2009.
The competition is part of the festivities leading up to World Wetlands Day on 2 February 2010. The competition brings together talented photographers from all over in support of the effort to preserve and protect Australia’s wetlands be they its swamps and bogs, beaches, rocky shores, mudflats, subterranean caves, farm dams, rivers and creeks, springs and soaks, floodplains, lakes, estuaries, inshore coastal and marine environments to a depth of six metres or urban wetlands that are a habitat for wildlife. The theme for 2010 is ‘Wetlands, Biodiversity and Climate Change.’ The mechanics provide a range of prizes in a variety of categories.
