The All-In-One iPhone Image App: Chase Jarvis’ Best Camera
Renowned, award-winning action photographer Chase Jarvis is also well-known for his iPhone photography project. “The best camera is the one that’s with you,” he says, and for Chase, that camera is his iPhone.
Chase takes photos, edits them using applications in his iPhone, and shares them on his Twitter and his iPhone photography site. He takes between one up to a thousand photos in this, and shares the ones he thinks are his best to the world. And if you’ve seen his iPhone photos, there will be no question in your mind that indeed, taking remarkable photos has little to do with the camera you use. Like Chase, all you really need is an eye for photography and a handy dandy camera like the iPhone.

However, editing and sharing photographs using an iPhone, more often than not, requires the use of more than one application. Perhaps two or three for editing the picture, and another one to upload it to the Internet. Chase, as someone who knows very well what the average iPhone photographer needs, has developed an iPhone application that can edit AND share these pictures—Best Camera iPhone Application.
Snap, Edit, Share.
The Best Camera iPhone application has 14 filters that you can use. You can use each filter on its own, or mix them up to give your photos a unique look. While other applications can be a little hard to use, the Best Camera application just need a single touch to brighten, saturate, frame, or apply other effects to your photo. These filters can be applied to create a cinematic, vintage-y, highly contrasted, or whatever kind of look you want your photograph to have, or they can used as corrective tools that can improve photos that were poorly captured. The Best Camera has four signature filters (Jewel, Paris, Slate, and Candy) plus 10 ordinary image editing actions like contrast, desaturate, warm, cool, etc. Also, as most iPhone users know, you need several applications to be able to share photos on various websites. The Best Camera lets you share your photos to all these sites, including thebestcamera.com, where the users of this app can upload their photos and let other users see what “recipe” or filters they used for their shot.
And Again: The Best Camera is the One That’s With You
Along with the Best Camera application, Chase also created the world’s first iPhone Photography book, which is called—yep, that’s right—The Best Camera is the One That’s With You. It highlights the belief that Chase, as a photographer, lives by: that a great photo isn’t always defined by how advanced the gadget that was used to take it. It proves that simple photos that has heart and humor are almost always the ones that catches one’s fancies. The book contains photos that solely taken by camera phones.
