One genre of photography is the advertising photography. Advertising photography is the art, activity, or process of capturing photographs for the purpose of advertisement. The photos taken for the purpose of advertisement must meet the quality or standard desired by its client, specifically the art director supervising the advertisement. Hence, it is challenging to engage in the business of advertising photography. The resulting photos must also be in harmony to the product it wanted to endorse and must be in agreement to the whole portion of the advertisement. So there are many factors to be considered before the photo shoot must be set-up and even before you click your camera. One of these factors and the most important one is the model for the advertising photography.

Different advertisements vary in the type of models that they needed. As well as different products will be endorsed with different type of models in relation to how these products will catch the attention of its buyers. The different models for advertising photography can be the humans, animals, and with the things in life like cars, houses, furniture, pens, and the likes. An advertising photography with human model can be categorized into two; the adult model and the children model. Versatility can be seen in humans as you take them as your models in advertising photography. Humans can display different emotions which is the most outstanding part because along with these varying emotions are the various products that can be endorsed excellently by humans. An adult model represents a range of emotion, sensation, and passion due the experiences in life. On the other hand, a child model not only conveys different expressions but also build a deep-seated impression in the mind of the viewers, readers, and possible buyers. The looks, expressions, and skin tones of the humans can add points to the beauty and creativity of the endorsed product through advertising photography.

Furthermore, both talents from the human model and the photographer are needed in order to capture the right expression resulting to a proficient and excellent photo for advertisement. Just like humans, having the animals as your model for the advertising photography needs expertise. Unlike humans, animals need some tricks to get them in the right mood so the photographer must be quick to capture the best expression of the animal model. Nevertheless, having the animals as your model would catch the feelings and emotions of the possible buyers and even facilitate a greater display of character at a long span of time for the product being endorsed. However, advertising photography with life things are not as challenging as with human and animal models. Life things do not have to impose emotions but only the correct positioning of the camera and the model and the appropriate usage of lighting to the model. In this case, the polishing of the photo lies in the expertise of the photographer.

All in all, advertising photography can be achieved best through the great correlation between the model and the photographer. But of course, you must bear in mind that the model and product relationship must be in harmony with each other to attain high sales rate.
