It is my opinion that the derailment of the core issue from that of the protection of a vulnerable child to that of art censorship was orchestrated from the beginning by very powerful interests. The artist was instantly ushered out a well-known back exit and the Police, in an appalling tactical error, were left to blunder through gallery stockrooms while the artist went to ground in Melbourne under close orders from his PR machine. The art censorship issue was a decoy and a fabrication, and led to the failure to prosecute a very dubious individual who had been grooming the child and her family for several years.</description>
